ELECTRAM ROTARY EQUIPMENT LTD.

Rotary, Static, or Autotransformer Converters... Engineered With Premium Quality - Lovato Motor Controls. These systems allow the use of three phase equipment wherever installation of a utility supplied three phase service is impractical or not available.

COST EFFECTIVE

When three phase power is not readily available or distance for extending the service is a major cost factor, Electram proves to be the most feasible answer. When three phase motor loads are only seasonal, Electram eliminates costly utility demand charges. Single phase services will not carry additional service charges as do utility supplied three phase power systems. Three phase motors operating from an Electram phase converter will generally have a service life five to eight times that of single phase motors.

Motor starting currents are much higher when single phase motors are utilized, and initial cost per horsepower is greatly reduced with the proper selection and installation of three phase motors. Availability and maintainability of three phase equipment proves to be a definite cost advantage whenever your dollars matter.

VERSATILITY

Electram rotary converters are designed for single or multiple motor applications. Motors of various speeds, duty cycles, wye or delta connected, may all be operated singly or simultaneously, and at constant or variable loads. Motors develop full rated horsepower.

DEPENDABLE POWER CONVERSION

Electram gets up to full speed almost instantly, and delivers proven performance. Designed and built in western Canada, Electram is backed by a complete stock of replacement parts, along with technical assistance provided by qualified personnel.

UNIQUE DESIGN

Unlike other converters, Electram has minimal no-load noise and vibration. It can be compared to that produced by most any standard three phase motor. The rotary is of rugged rolled steel construction, and sealed bearings ensure long durability. Totally enclosed fan cooled units are available on special request for outdoor use or location in dusty environments. The converter control panel features quality magnetic contactors; complete with rotary generator overload protection.

Running of the Electram rotary phase converter does not require the additional purchase of a converter starter or pushbutton control station (unlike competitive products). Large input and output terminal lugs are standard equipment, completing this "ready to roll" converter.

Electram control cabinets are rated CEMA 1 and are fabricated of 16 gauge steel, finished with an attractive grey enamel. Hinged covers and key locks are also standard on all units.

Reliable Phase Conversion

Used extensively in industry for:
• Woodworking
• Machining
• Plastics
• Metal Fabrication
• Boring Machines
• Drills
• Blowers
• Printing
• Welding
• And other uses too many to mention

Used in agriculture for:
• Conveyors
• Compressors
• Pumps
• And many other applications

HIGH TORQUE CAPABILITIES

Electram is among the first to supply converters capable of developing 200% or more starting torque as a standard feature on its full line of rotary converters. For those hard starting applications, Electram is the answer to your needs. Electram can also supply conversion for high inertia loads or extremely long starting cycles, (Consult the factory for these applications).

EASE OF INSTALLATION

The Electram converter is not fixed on the rotary generator, enabling wall mounting of the cabinet. The rotary may be installed out of view or simply in an isolated location. Electram provides complete terminals for power hookups, and is factory wired for additional field control of the converter.
